Hi, I’m Abby Weng

With 7+ years of experience in consulting and coaching English learners, I have helped hundreds of individuals make breakthroughs, bridging the gap between knowledge and real life. I created this boutique English learning service to help more English learners reach new heights.
Here are a few things I know to be true:
English is not just about vocabulary flashcards, grammar exercises or practice conversations. The language is supposed to be used in real life, and it’s time that we start learning it in context — with our own lives in mind.
In order to improve, we have to be willing to 1) make mistakes and 2) learn from them by evaluating everything critically. Each error is an opportunity to get better. The learning process is not a performance, and our goal isn’t to impress anyone; it’s to grow.
There’s no perfection. We can always be better than we are now. Learning is a lifelong endeavor, and that is not bad news. On the contrary, it’s exciting because this means our thrilling adventure of growth can essentially go on forever!
The way we solve a problem is much more important than the answer itself. While many think it’s a waste of time to deal with a problem until we finally figure it out, I believe there is no better investment of our time, and it’s my mission to change their mind.
Spoonfeeding people information is a lazy way to teach. No, let me rephrase that: it’s not teaching at all. Don’t let anyone do that to you. Take control of your own learning and practice thinking independently about everything (including what I’m saying right now).
There always seems to be a better time than now, so we wait and wait… and time goes by. But no matter how little we can do right now, that’s still something, and something is always better than nothing. Take action today and every day. In time, our effort will snowball into something magnificent.

If you want something badly enough, you will find a way to make it happen. Passion is king!

There are no shortcuts. Learning takes time and effort. Yes, inefficiency does exist, but shortcuts won’t solve that problem.

Here are the real solutions to inefficiency in learning English:

Focus on clear goals

You have to know why you’re doing whatever it is you’re doing

Self-awareness

You have to know what you’re doing or it’s all just busy work

Critical evaluation

You have to know how to evaluate what you’re doing and how to check your own mistakes so you can learn from them.

Practice

You have to do it. There’s just no way around that. Practicing is about applying what you’ve learned. Contrary to popular belief, it’s not about mind-numbing repetition. If you’re just repeating the material and spitting it back out, something’s wrong. Get help!

Growing up with me in my mom’s wonderful book (it’s in Chinese).
Reading my Chinese and English essays about work in this book that my mom and I wrote together.
Stumbling across the fun posts on my Facebook Fanpage or other social media platforms like Instagram & Twitter.

Hearing about me from your friends/my happy clients:

Abby is a master who possesses great sensitivity in both language and the clients’ needs. She has helped me and my research team with creative techniques to enhance our work performance. Most importantly, her flexibility to customize a unique program to satisfy our specific needs is greatly valued and appreciated. We as English users on a daily basis still continue to improve our mastery of English because of her guidance and inspiration! Dr. Chia-huei Tseng

Thank you Abby through the years!!!!! It’s really a epic journey to me it’s like my Jedi adventure is about to start !!!!!

1. I think everybody do something got to have a reason, for example I love movies, I’m a movie buff but when learn English I won’t have a connection between movies and English . But amazingly , Abby’s teaching style supersized me. We focus on the project is how to get movies in life. So in the conversation we talk a lot of movies, and even reading a script, and my assignment essay makes me like a movie cricits, that’s the reason that makes me continue to go to class.

2. I think Abby can be your mentor or your friend . I will compare her like professor x in the movie X-men or Ben in The Intern . She will give you a wise question and wait you to give her a wise answer. That makes me think a lot . Not just training my logic but also make me know more about myself . She brings the English to my life not just by thinking But also by doing it . Our latest project is about the work in my future . I like performance so I have a lot of great ideas about on being an actor . Abby told me a lot of information and give me some work to prepare it . That makes me more focus on the reality rather than thinking . And all the things we used English to discuss. we all use it to write an essay. It’s been a lot of fun, learning English is not boring, it’s fascinating .
